Frontier School Division Annual Juried Art Show
February 17th – March 18th, 2016
Student artwork from all over Northern Manitoba on display at the Graffiti Gallery in Winnipeg. Frontier School Division (FSD) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Juried Art Show by partnering with Graffiti Art Programming to display select works of student art.
A long-standing FSD tradition, the Juried Art Show takes place during the Division’s annual School Committee Conference, where members of its various school committees meet in Winnipeg for a 3-day event filled with discussions, planning and student performances.
This year the Juried Art show will see 344 entries from 185 students at 23 schools in FSD. Entries include everything from paintings and drawings to sculptures and animation. With FSD covering 75 per cent of Manitoba’s geography, the Juried Art Show is a unique opportunity to see all of the student works brought together.
“We are very proud of our art programs and the opportunities they provide students to express themselves,” said FSD Chief Superintendent Reg Klassen. “Every year outstanding art is on display and I am in awe of the artistic gifts our students possess.”
