Frontier School Division Annual Group Exhibition
The Frontier School Division Juried Art Show features a selection of artwork by students from Manitoba’s northern schools, covering 75% of Manitoba’s geography. The FSD Juried Art Show is a unique opportunity to see all the student works brought together. Graffiti Gallery is proud to continue supporting the Frontier School Division in their efforts to encourage youth to communicate through creative self-expression and to develop a dialogue between students and their community.
This year’s display features over 200 artworks ranging from paintings, drawing, digital works, mixed media and photography. In correlation with the Frontier School Division Annual Art Show, Graffiti Gallery will be hosting the Postcard Art Piece Workshop. Participants will have an opportunity to engage directly with the stories and imagery inspired by life in Manitoba’s rural and northern communities for this workshop. Participants will choose a piece of art that resonates with them, or that they would like to respond to—both visually and through a personalized postcard. Using mixed materials postcards will be decorated, addressed to the corresponding student’s school, and then mailed out. This workshop invites and expands connection with youth across our province, sparking creative conservation beyond the gallery walls as the artwork travels.
